The Pykes had a baby on the way, and wanted to replace their condo’s cord-drawn shades with some more child-safe motorized roller shades.
Roller shades are some of the easiest window treatments to motorize since the whole system already works around a single moving part. The new motorized roller shades we installed for the Pykes are multi-patterned vinyl fabric sheets hooked up to some compact, box-mounted powered spindles. These shades are controlled by either remote handset or the short metallic cords hanging high above the floor from each box.
